How is science inspiring to you?

Science is inspiring to me because of all the new discoveries that are found every day. Science helps us learn more about the past and the future. I find it fascinating how many advancements are made with science!

Why did you choose your major?

I chose to be a Biology major because I loved learning about this subject since I was young. I like how Biology is a very broad topic that includes many types of Biology. My favorite topic is Human Biology.

Which type of research do you do and why is it important?

I work in a neurophysiology research lab. The type of research I do focuses on proprioception which is how our body senses where we are in space. It is important because we can learn about how neurons in the muscle are affected by different diseases and environmental factors.

Why are the Science of Beauty articles you write important?

My articles are important because they help give scientific insight on popular beauty goods. I am interested in the topics I write about which make it fun for me to research on.

What is your ultimate professional goal?

My ultimate professional goal is a research role in the Biotech field.

How do you spend your time outside of science?

Outside of science I spend my time with family and friends. I enjoy traveling and trying out new restaurants. I love going to concerts and music festivals! I love watching new movies and TV shows. My favorite show that I have watched this summer was the new season of Stranger Things.

Who’s your inspiration?

I have a couple of people who I am inspired by- Simone Biles, Emma Watson, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Do you have any advice for students looking to pursue undergrad science research?

My advice is to network with everyone to try to get yourself out there. The best way to get into research is to reach out to people to learn how to get involved.
