Wear What Wear April: From the Editor’s Wardrobe

Taking style inspiration from this issue’s Spring Core Lab Style , our editor taps her wardrobe for Dosha Dressing looks to take out in April. This month brings each Dosha closer to art in her $cientist T. We all have the three doshic energies, but different proportions make each of us unique. Some days a Pitta feels more like a Kapha or needs her energy to reach balance. Decide how you feel, reach into your closet, then hit the streets.

THE $CIENCE

PITTA

Pitta balances power by cooling off and introspecting with Roni Horn’s changing cast-glass pools in SoHo. The deep and light blues of “uncertainty is not chaos” and “she waits for nothing at all…”, respectively, change with changes in natural light, movement and temperature. Top with pearls and switch into tan or white capsule Tod’s if need be.

Wear $cientist T in white paired with patterned oceanic blue silk pants and authoritative deep wine red for shoes and bag.

VATA

Fearlessly Bright Vata grounds herself in Changing Seasons by Jae Ko at Opera Gallery. Works with paper and Japanese ink are vibrantly comforting and indicative of DAPI-dyed cells with a bit of run-off. Ko used her nearness to water as inspiration. An element much needed by Vata. Meditate in MoMA’s sculpture garden afterward.

Wear The essential black and gold $cientist T with floral silk Emilio Pucci pants and neon silver sandals by Osklen (ca 2012). Top with neon J Crew button down and/or black denim jacket depending on the temperature.

KAPHA

Kapha is living an electrified life with the pantless trend. Grounded in The $cientist’s ode to Barbara Kruger and a pair of loafers, Earthy Spring feels can head over to Hall des Lumières for a Klimt light show. Grab some eats at Odeon.

Wear Futura Oblique Face $cientist T with orange net Wolford tights and Hermes tan loafers. A Proenza Schuler denim dress worn as a jacket works well for warmer Spring days.

What Gustave Klimt Gold in Motion immerses visitors in Klimt’s most recognizable works in gold like The Kiss and Adele. This experience is not suggested for easily overstimulated high Vata energies. Only on April 20 11a-6p.
