Letter From The Editor: Issue S05

Dear Readers:

In a time of fast-paced and disconcerting tech like AI, we find ourselves reminiscing about simpler times.

We are at a special place of reflection. How things used to be. Before we get to where we are headed.

At the nucleus of the Fall/Winter Issue S05 of The Magazine is nostalgia.

Regret for not being there or longing to be back there has some dropping iPhones for flip phones and replacing clean girl with grunge.

From fashion week to the holidays, the Fall-Winter seasons touch on how we got here.

A cross-talk between past and future soothes sentimentality.

The Science is Beauty of the 90’s gave us big Velcro roller hair, matte brown lips and Super Models. Naomi and Linda continued “It Girl” phenomenon. Kaia Gerber may reign in the fashion world today, but her mother Cindy Crawford showed us how to diversify our portfolios.

From the 20’s to the naughts, films continue to teach us about anxiety, style and adaptation. Joan Crawford and Rosalind Russell remind us how much things have and have not changed. Nostalgia I, II and III revisit catfights, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Hitchcock and Sofia Coppola’s Elvis.

Times of innovation need grounding. Dosha Dressing brings vibrant colors to individual characteristics. Those special flavors that make you radiate from within without losing balance as the world transforms. Our seasonal color resides in the wistfulness of childhood daydreams. Shades of purple in sequence, velvet and cashmere wrap Kapha, Vata and Pitta in inner and outer warmth.

Refinement is welcome and refreshing. The Breakdown Magazineis now simplyThe Magazine. Our cover is distilled with our logo featuring the heart of our unmatched legacy- Art, Science and Life.

Sincerely,
